This site is not a licensed home inspection, not a substitute for one, and not professional advice of any kind, engineering, legal, financial or otherwise. Nothing here should be your only basis for an offer, a purchase, or a decision to waive an inspection contingency. Every guide on this site says this directly, and this page says it again because it's the single most important thing to understand before using any of the checklists here.

Costs, code requirements, lifespans and other figures on this site are researched and sourced, but they change: material prices shift, local codes vary by jurisdiction, and industry data gets revised.
