What this site collects
Red Flag House does not require an account, does not ask you to submit personal information, and does not run analytics or advertising trackers at the time of this writing. No server-side record is kept of who visits which page or what you check off on the walkthrough tool.
The checklist tool and your browser’s local storage
The checklist on the homepage saves which boxes you've checked using your browser's local storage, a standard web feature that keeps small amounts of data on your own device. That data never leaves your browser, is never transmitted to this site or anyone else, and is only ever readable by you, on the device and browser you used. Clearing your browser's site data, using a private/incognito window, or switching devices will reset it. This site has no way to see, back up, or recover it.
Cookies
This site does not currently set cookies. If that changes, for example if analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated first and will describe what's collected and why.
Links to other sites
Guides on this site cite and link to outside sources, cost guides, government agencies, industry organizations, and may in the future include affiliate links to companies like home warranty providers (see the About page for how this site makes money). Those sites have their own privacy practices, separate from this one, and this policy doesn't cover them.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults researching a home purchase and isn't directed at children. It doesn't knowingly collect information from children, which is easy to state plainly since it doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects or how it's used ever changes, meaningfully, this page will be updated and the date at the top will reflect that. Checking back here is the way to know if anything's changed.
